Geeeee Whizzzz
Been working on a rather major blog entry, a collaboration with a young gifted writer, Kira Hancock. She and I have a new book series planned, titled: The Beauty of Hope, where we will be annotating some of my (our) favorite lines & poems in each of my seven Penguin books, and offering some original haiku.
But my sweet agent Melissa, who edits and posts all my blog entries, wanted me to offer something for Thanksgiving. And in looking for a certain Hafiz poem-rendering of mine titled “A Suspended Blue Ocean,” I came across a little bonanza of some of my Hafiz poems on this link, that I don't think I ever saw before, and I thought: Gee Whiz! The poem “A Suspended Blue Ocean” is the 7th poem down in the line up.
And this first one here, Hafiz ends the poem with: Kiss me! (which I think would be a good idea if one ever could.) In some real ways, in any good poem one is being tossed a kiss. I think there can even be such a transference in poetry and great art— one even conceives something golden and lasting; and if nurtured, grows into your eyes, and sounds, and touch!
