Knowing
In a new book I am working on (that you could read about in my last blog entry), Buddha says:
Knowledge is freedom. And at the height
of knowledge one becomes a sun.
Most of the chapters will be short— just one or two pages; though with one of the longer chapters being titled Knowing. And in that chapter, and throughout the book, I will be expounding in sometimes very playful ways on key points in an article the famous Buddhist magazine— Lion’s Roar invited me to write for them some years back. And will too expound on just four words that I think distills— and is at the very heart of Buddhism and all advanced spiritual paths. Those four words being:
Sit until you know!
Knowing. That is a big one. A big, big one. So big I doubt that most people have any real idea of what a truly enlightened person might really know. Or what you are someday destined to Realize.
Would we look at her, as we do, without
the sun touching her face and heart.
That is another short passage from this new book, that Buddha begins a discourse with about the moon & sun, and knowing. And there are some sweet, poetic, esoteric lines in that discourse where Buddha in part says:
“They sat in the sky, in the infinite, where we all really are, holding hands. And look what love has done to them. As it will to us. Light this world. And there is no hand my dear, that is not always reaching across the infinite of even a tiny space, wanting to touch God. And needing to Know we are Her precious lover.”
In this article I wrote for Lion’s Roar, copied and pasted below, I get into what I feel is the very cornerstone of all my Hafiz work, and really all of my poetry work— and really what is the beautiful cornerstone, maybe even an Alchemy Stone, in Buddha After Hours In The Bar. For one may be able to touch Buddha, as maybe they have not before.

Ahhh, Buddha & Hafiz & Rumi after hours in the bar. That seems to be my life— inviting the world (and myself) to that fantastic, wonderful— cranking up the party. Via the Knowing! Trying to help with:
"The truth will set you free."
